For the second year running, we ordered chicks as part of our project on Spring and Growth. We marked the wing of each chick with a different coloured felt tip pen and the chidren named them Fluffy, Sunny and Ginger. We weighed them and recorded weights daily on a chart and we took photos of their growth and development. |

We initially measured each one
against a Pritt Stick and recorded weight and height at the end of three
weeks. The children fed them daily and helped to
clean out the cage once a week. A member of staff took them home at weekends.
They were used throughout the school to support Science - and worksheets at
different levels of ability were designed for use with groups of
children. |
| Paintings, drawings and models were
created. They were no longer fluffy and good to hold! |

By the end of the three weeks they were
large and quite smelly. We were glad to return them |
Our topic for the autumn term was Time. We learned about the hours on the clock and here is a picture of our display.
We enjoyed playing the game what time is it Mr. Wolf?
