School News

One of the exciting things that children in Classes 5 and 6 will be doing this year is communicating with Australia and America, when we hope to collaborate on many projects. Some ideas are :-

• exchanges about our relevant schools using emails and post
• information about each other's environment
• habitats and wildlife in the localities
• weather and geographical information
• sharing of work and topics
• craft and art projects
• christmas exchanges
• postcards, pictures and newscuttings

We have been busy finishing a cotton quilt to send to our friends in Australia along with other school souvenirs and information about our city.

We are currently sewing some Christmas stockings to send to America along with school souvenirs and things from Manchester.

On Thursday, November 1st, we had a visit from an Umbro representative who spent a full day teaching our children some soccer skills. They all thoroughly enjoyed it and were amazingly good at it. They each received a certificate, signed by Michael Owen, and managed to raise lots of sponsorship money in the process.

Our overseas classes have finished their school year now and so we will not be in touch with our friends again this year.
